Pursuit Changed My Dad’s Life. Soon, It’ll Change Mine Too.

Radharani “Rad” Valongo started to see big changes.

Rad’s family was able to pay the rent. They didn’t have trouble putting food on the table. And they were able to go out for dinner at Tacuba Restaurant, their favorite place for Mexican food.

All this happened after Rad’s dad, Elber Carneiro, completed the Pursuit Fellowship. Equipped with coding and professional skills, he went from being a store manager and taxi driver to a software developer at YieldMo, a mobile advertising technology company.

“This was an actual life-changing thing that happened to us,” says Rad.

Rad was inspired by the way Elber transformed his life. And now Rad is making that same transformation in their own life. A Starbucks barista who couldn’t afford to finish college, Rad is currently enrolled in Pursuit and on the path to becoming a professional software developer.

“I knew I would have the passion and confidence to do this program because of what happened with my dad,” says Rad. “I’m so focused on doing the best I can. This is going to be my life for the rest of my life.”

If you had a life-changing experience, who would you want to share that opportunity with?

At Pursuit, that often means family.
