Pursuit Transformation Company Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides training programs to assist adults entering careers in technology (the “Programs”). In the course of providing these Programs, Pursuit engages with individuals online, including through our website, social media properties, electronic forms and surveys, and in-person (collectively our “Services”).
This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) tells you how we collect, use, and disclose information about you in connection with your use of our Services. If you have been referred to our Services by a third-party organization, the information that third party collects about you will be governed by its own privacy policy or terms. Please make sure you review any Pursuit policies or terms and conditions that are provided to you carefully, as they may include important information about our privacy practices or have other information that applies to you. Depending on your relationship with us, additional Pursuit policies may apply to your use of our services.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Pursuit engages with individuals in different ways through our Services.The personal information we collect about you depends on your relationship with us.
Program Applicants & Participants
When you apply to participate in any of Pursuit’s Programs, we collect personal information from you through your online application, as well as online and in-person interviews and workshops, to determine your eligibility and qualification for our Programs and to improve the application process. The personal information we collect through your online application and during your interview includes:
- Contact information, including your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and other information that enables us to communicate with you;
- Verification information, including a photo ID or government issued identification, date of birth, and other information that enables us to verify your identity;
- Professional information, including current or past work experience and education history;
- Demographic information, including your self-identified gender, ethnicity, race, and other information that may help us track the demographics of our applicants; and
- Other personal information, including your personal statement, cover letter, resume, and any other information you share with us or that we observe throughout the application process.
If you participate in a Program, we collect additional personal information from you to provide you with the Program and Services, enhance your engagement with us, and improve our Programs and Services. The personal information we collect includes:
- Additional professional information, including information about employment opportunities you obtain during the course of the Program or as a result of your participation in the Program;
- Additional verification information, such as your employment contract, compliance and reporting forms, tax documentation, and other information that enables us to verify your employment status and income; and
- Other personal information, such as information about how you are progressing in the Program, images of you participating in the Program or at other events, testimonials or other feedback you provide us about the Program, and any other information you share with us during the onboarding process and throughout your participation in the Program.
Program participants may also be provided with the opportunity to utilize a Pursuit-owned laptop for the duration of the Program. The terms and policies associated with use of any such laptop are separately covered under Pursuit’s Equipment License Agreement.
If you have been referred to a Program by a third-party organization, such as your current employer, that third party may provide us with additional personal information about you. We may also share the personal information you provide to us with the third-party organization that referred you. For more information, please see “Third-Party Organizations” below.
Pursuit is not responsible for and does not consider confidential any information you voluntarily disclose to employees, volunteers, or other individuals involved in the Programs and Services, except as may be limited by applicable law.
Donors & Volunteers
Donors and volunteers help make our Programs successful.
If you choose to donate to our Programs, to process your donation, communicate with you about our Programs, and comply with our legal obligations, we collect the following personal information from you:
- Contact information, including your name, billing address, phone number, email address, and other information that enables us to communicate with you; and
- Payment information, such as your credit or debit card details, bank account information, and payment amount or other information required when you make a donation.
If you are interested in volunteering in the Programs, to enable us to match you with and communicate with you about volunteer opportunities with the Programs and other events, we collect the following personal information from you:
- Contact information, including your name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and other information that enables us to communicate with you;
- Employment information, such as your employer, job title, and other information about your professional experience; and
- Other personal information, including your preferred time commitment, type of volunteer work you are interested in performing, other information that enables us to tailor your involvement in the Programs, and images of you participating in the Programs or at other events.
If you have been referred to us by a third-party organization, that third party may provide us with your contact information so that we may reach out to you.
Website Visitors & Other Individuals
If you visit our website or social media properties (collectively our “Online Services”), or otherwise engage with us, we may collect automatically certain personal information about you and your computer or mobile device. When you visit our Online Services, we may collect your Internet Protocol (IP) address, mobile device identifier, Internet service provider (ISP), browser type, and language. We may also use cookies and similar technologies to collect data about your interaction with our Online Services, including referring webpage information, pages visited on our website, and crash data.
If you sign up to receive our newsletter or other online communications, by providing us with your email address, Pursuit will provide you with periodic updates about our Programs and Services. If you wish to unsubscribe from these updates you can do so by clicking “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of any of our online communications.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your information to provide you with the Programs and Services; to communicate with you, including about the Programs and Services; to enhance your and others’ engagement and experience with us; and to improve our Programs and Services. For example, we may use your information to match you with and communicate with you about volunteer opportunities with the Programs and other events. As another example, we may use information gathered during any component of the Programs, including during one-on-one meetings or in classrooms, to educate and encourage staff and volunteers.
We also may use your information to protect the security and integrity of the Programs and Services and to enforce ours and others’ legal rights.

The Pursuit Community
We may share images and videos of our Programs, participants, donors, volunteers, and events in our office and through our newsletter, Online Services, and other communications to the Pursuit community, including to community organizations and other donors, volunteers, participants, and other members of the public who visit the Pursuit office or utilize Pursuit’s Online Services. We may also share externally your testimonial about your experience with the Programs, with your consent.
Third-Party Organizations
If you are referred to Pursuit through a third-party organization, we may share your personal information with that third-party organization. For Program applicants, this may include sharing the fact that you have applied for a Program, along with your contact information, with that organization. For Program participants, this may include sharing information about your progress in the Program with that organization. For volunteers, this may include sharing information about your involvement with us with the organization that referred you. If you have been referred to our Services by a third-party organization, the information that third party collects about you will be governed by its own privacy policy or terms. Pursuit does not make any representations about third parties’ privacy practices.
Service Providers
Your information may be shared with service providers that provide functionality to our Services, such as payment processing, web analytics, data processing, email distribution, or other services.
Other Parties When Required by Law or as Necessary to Protect Our Services
We may share your personal data with law enforcement, other government agencies or authorities, third parties as required by applicable law, court order, subpoena, or legal process served on us, to satisfy a request for cooperation by a government entity, to prevent fraud and protect the safety and security of our Programs and Services, in the event of a transaction that involves the sale of all or a portion of our business or assets, or to protect or enforce our legal and contractual rights in our Programs and Services.

Other Parties in Aggregated Form
We may collect or generate non-personal anonymized and aggregated information from your use of our Services. We use anonymized and aggregated information in various ways and we may share this non-personal information with third parties.

Pursuit may permit third parties that are not affiliated with us to collect or receive certain information about you if you use our Services, including through the use of cookies, Web beacons, and similar technologies. Pursuit is not responsible for the privacy practices of these entities.
CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
Pursuit may revise this Policy from time to time. Therefore, it is important that you periodically review the Policy. If we make any material revisions to this Policy, we will email you at the email address you have provided or will place a notice on our website and update the effective date of the Policy. By continuing to use our Services after we make changes, you indicate your consent to those changes, except as limited by applicable law.
